San Diego has relatively hard water, as do more than 85 % of American homes. We import most of our water, and as the water travels through rock and soil, it picks up minerals, including calcium and magnesium. These minerals produce what is often referred to as “hardness” in water, and what gives Southern California some of the hardest water in the country. When these minerals enter your home and are subject to pressure and temperature changes (like your hot water heater), the water becomes supersaturated and these minerals fall out of solution and form encrusting limescale. In the past, homeowners have been forced to use undesirable techniques such as salts, magnetic coils, and chemicals to manage these effects. Many municipalities are lobbying to ban conventional water softeners that discharge salt into municipal sewer lines. The mineral makes it tough for sanitation districts to clean and reuse their sewage, which is an increasingly crucial source of irrigation water in drought-plagued California. For this reason, it would be wise to consider a water softener alternative now, before it becomes mandatory. More importantly, the new alternatives to conventional water softeners are better for the environment and more efficient, saving you money!

Our new Flow-Tech Home’s cutting-edge technology is far more effective than any other physical water treatment system on the market. Not only will the Flow-Tech system eliminate limescale from occurring in your home it will also remove existing build-up, increasing flow and efficiency. Unlike all other chemical and physical water treatment systems, Flow-Tech has invented a proprietary means of treating all of the water throughout your plumbing system – whether the water is moving or not. Magnets, coils and TAC (Template Assisted Crystallization) are ineffective unless the water is flowing. Any seeds that they create soon go back into solution and the ability to prevent encrusting scale is lost. Water treatment is more than a luxury, it’s a necessity. Better quality water with less water waste and reduction in bottled water usage is good for the earth and all of its inhabitants. We believe, as a professional plumber, it is not only our option to offer water treatment, it’s part of our responsibility. The work we do protects the sanitation and well-being of your home and improving the quality of water you receive is just as important.
